Transition Sherwood cyclists and would-be cyclists are reviving the Bike Group which has been dormant for a year. Things we are thinking about include: Bike Maintenance like the Dr Bike Session, Confidence building and road safety for nervous riders and young people, Campaigning for better cycle awareness, cycle routes and signage in Sherwood Cycle Rides, social cycling, and outings on bikes If you would like to join in, either for the first time or as a returning member from the previous group, please get in touch and / or come and join us at our first meeting on Monday 5th December. The meeting will be upstairs at the Samuel Hall (old Sherwood Bus Station) at 7.30pm
Transition Sherwood is a group of local people coming together to help our communities become less dependent on fossil fuels, become more resilient, and reduce our impact on the environment. The group started in 2008, with an active group initiating a range of events and projects. This evolved into a smaller group concentrating on two community gardens from 2015.
Updates about local community and environmental events, and national and international climate change and environmental issues are currently shared mainly via our Facebook page.
Transition Sherwood is very pleased to be a member of the Nottingham Growing Network in 2016-17, with funding from the People's Postcode Lottery supporting sharing of skills and resources around a network of growing projects.
The website's title picture is part of a mural in Hood St, Sherwood, painted by local young people in 2008 - signatures below.
