Spring is definitely springing and lots of new things are happenning - some much faster than the website and e-mail updates! Lots of the new things are being organised via social media, particularly Facebook, so if you're thinking of starting to use it, or got an account already but not using it very much, now's a good time to give a go and get exploring! Follow this link to the Transition Sherwood page, and there's also an active 'Sherwood in Nottingham' group exchanging local information & activities, and the new 'Sowing Sherwood' group
Transition Sherwood is a group of local people coming together to help our communities become less dependent on fossil fuels, become more resilient, and reduce our impact on the environment. The group started in 2008, with an active group initiating a range of events and projects. This evolved into a smaller group concentrating on two community gardens from 2015.
Updates about local community and environmental events, and national and international climate change and environmental issues are currently shared mainly via our Facebook page.
Transition Sherwood is very pleased to be a member of the Nottingham Growing Network in 2016-17, with funding from the People's Postcode Lottery supporting sharing of skills and resources around a network of growing projects.
The website's title picture is part of a mural in Hood St, Sherwood, painted by local young people in 2008 - signatures below.
