Transition Sherwood has sadly decided not to continue the Garden Share scheme, which was set up to match people with spare space in their gardens with people looking for space to grow food. Despite promoting this over several years, some generous offers of space in gardens, and several 'almost but not quite' pairings, we have unfortunately not been able to match up people into successful garden sharing agreements. We have now contacted everyone who was in touch with the scheme, and are discussing with Neighbourhood Office funders about use of remaining funds for other local food-growing activities.
Many thanks to everyone involved, especially Nicola and Joan M for persevering, people who have offered their gardens, Nottingham City Council neighbourhood office funding, and everyone who has helped to publicise the scheme. The Landshare scheme set up by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall & co is going strong matching landowners and would-be food growers, and covers the whole country, with people exchanging information via the website at www.landshare.net/.
