At it's 2016 AGM, the group agreed to buy and install a bikestand / planter at Sherwood Community Centre, using the remaining funds from the Transition Sherwood bike group. The planter was delivered in a cardboard box from the Front Yard Company, and installed in early 2017. Picture of the planted-up planter to come!
Transition Sherwood is a group of local people coming together to help our communities become less dependent on fossil fuels, become more resilient, and reduce our impact on the environment. The group started in 2008, with an active group initiating a range of events and projects. This evolved into a smaller group concentrating on two community gardens from 2015.
Updates about local community and environmental events, and national and international climate change and environmental issues are currently shared mainly via our Facebook page.
Transition Sherwood is very pleased to be a member of the Nottingham Growing Network in 2016-17, with funding from the People's Postcode Lottery supporting sharing of skills and resources around a network of growing projects.
The website's title picture is part of a mural in Hood St, Sherwood, painted by local young people in 2008 - signatures below.
